Bringing a number of popular children’s books to life helped teen actress AnnaSophia Robb make a name for herself in Hollywood in a short time.

Robb first drew attention in 2005 with starring roles in “Because of Winn-Dixie” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Both movies were adapted from popular children’s books. In “Because of Winn-Dixie,” Robb played the lead role of Opal, a girl who makes friends with the help of her dog she adopted from the local supermarket. In “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” she played competitive gum chewer Violet Beauregarde. The two different roles showed the acting range Robb already possessed at a young age.

Robb cemented her stardom as a child actor when she played Leslie Burke in the moving drama “Bridge to Terabithia.” The movie was based on another popular children’s book and Robb took the role because she loved that particular book. She recorded a song for the movie soundtrack titled “”Keep Your Mind Wide Open,” appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week in March.

Robb has garnered recent acclaim for portraying one-armed surfer Bethany Hamilton, who recovers from a shark attack to become a pro surfer, in the movie “Soul Surfer.”

Like we all know, nowadays, books are being made into movies. Succesful or not, many directors, writers have found a lucrative interest in making a book come alive from the almost dead and forgotten pages of a book. Many movies like “Harry Potter”, “Charlotte’s web” and “Lemonade mouth” came from novels that were written by unknown and barely succesful authors. Obviously, since our books are deisppearing into movies, it is safe to say that there is a book vs movie or more precisely novel vs movie.This/tag helps explain it more.

Reading is fantastic, it nourishes the mind and release the learning pulses to fill brains with needed information but a movie is fun and for the youngests it is everything that has ever existed. Though unstyoppable, this revolutionary movement will also boost up the demand for books and by extension the demand for authors and freelance writers that will be the base of or cinematographic demand for succesful book to turn into movies. it is also life saving when turning a whole week of reading into only two hours of fast talking motion pictures. Reading and movies are friends that use each other to get to the top and with our society craving for fantastic’s stories, the demand for both will akways be at an all time high.

Movies have been finding inspiration from books since movies first began. They have looked to novels, plays and picture books to make some of the most memorable films. Here is a look at some of the books that inspired popular children’s movies.

The most popular series turned movies right now is the Harry Potter series. The Chronicles of Narnia are another set of novels that children have grown up reading, which recently has been released as films. These series allow readers to see all that they have imagined through the written word come to life.
Jumanji, Where the Wild Things Are, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs are all examples of movies made from picture books. The filmmakers had to expand these stories in order to create a feature length picture, but still kept the feeling of the books in-tact.

Even Shakespeare has created inspiration for children’s movies. Gnomeo and Juliet is an animated musical that brings this classic to a younger audience. Of course children are not the only ones who love the movies created by their favorite childhood story. Winnie the Pooh is coming out this year, and adults are talking about the movie just as much as the children! Movies inspired by a great children’s book is a great way for people to see their favorite characters come to life.
